November, 2010:
TTZH participated in Moscow International Lubricant Week, organized by RPI – Russian Petroleum Investor on 9 – 12 November 2010 at Renaissance Moscow Hotel, Moscow, Russia. A moment of the technical presentation „Modern Equipment for Testing of Lubricants and Greases“ (lecturer Dr. Alexander Minewitsch) is seen on the picture.

October 21-22, 2010:
International Conference “Poruchy Valých Ložísk” (Failures of Rolling Bearings) with a participation of some major manufacturers of bearings, seals and lubricants was held on 21.-22.10.2010 in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. The Conference was chaired by Prof. Pavel Blaškovitš, President of the Slovak Society of Tribology and Prof. Paul Feinle, Head of Competence Center Tribology of Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. TTZH oral paper “Tribotestovanie a triboanalýza pre zlepšenie technológie výroby ložísk” (Tribotesting and Triboanalysis for Improved Bearing Technology) was authored by Dr. Alexander A. Minewitsch, Prof. Karl H. Spies and Dr. Michael V. Efron, some corresponding equipment was demonstrated during the accompanying exhibition. October 12, 2010:
Berlin-Brandenburg Section (headed by Dr. rer. nat. Thomas Gradt) of GfT – German Tribology Society and BAM – Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing arranged a presentation of new developments in UMT platform, including multisensoric, multiscale tribotests and analysis of tribological surfaces during its 69th Tribology Colloquium which was hold in Berlin on 12 October 2010. The Program and more details about the presentation given by Dr. Alexander Minewitsch (a moment of the lecture is seen on the picture) can be found as a pdf here.

July, 2010:
Export–import of high-tech products between NAFTA and EU countries is since years an important part of TTZH transatlantic activities. In July 2010 TTZH visited several points of US American South West as a part of our regular work and business development in North America. Some selected pictures made during this trip are demonstrating the virgin landscapes of Colorado and city view on skyscrapers in California.

February, 2010:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karl H. Spies (on the photo left) started his activities as TTZH tribology consultant in the beginning 2010. Prof. Spies studied Mechanical Engineering at University of Karlsruhe and then obtained his PhD title at the Chair of Machine Elements and Automotive Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Kollmann. Afterwards he entered the company Carl Freudenberg in Weinheim / Bergstrasse (www.freudenberg.de) and at first worked there as Head of Development. The next stations were supervision of the business units as a manager with the responsibility for 3 plants with 800 employees. After this he established R&D Department at Freudenberg Sealing and Vibration Technology, aiming to develop the fundamentals of sealing technology, new products and process engineering, and the testing methods as well. The next stations were with the central research and development of Freudenberg, build up of central advanced engineering for automotive technology and supervision of the central test technique for the tests of engines and vibration technology.

During the work as Head of R&D department Prof. Spies obtained a professorship for the subject “Sealing technology of elastomer materials” at the University of Kaiserslautern, Faculty of Mechanical Engneering. He performed these activities for more than 20 years. After 10 years professorship he received there a title of honorary professor.

During the professional activities he worked over 10 years in VDMA (www.vdma.org) in Research Association for Combustion Engines (FVV - www.fvv-net.de), as general coordinator of the planning group for tribology, fatigue strength, and materials and launched over 50 research projects.

January, 2010:
At the exhibition booth in Ostfildern during 17th International Colloquium Tribology “Solving Friction and Wear Problems” on 19–21 January 2010 TTZH presented new equipment for tests of greases under various special conditions. Technical presentations about this equipment and its specific aspects, applicable in automotive industry, aviation, defence, wind energy and more were made by Mr. Arno Simon “Development of a New Test Rig to Determine Starting and Running Torque of Lubricating Greases at Low Temperatures” and Mr. Peter Albers “Viscosity measurement at high pressures up to 14000 bar – further development of a quartz viscometer”.

July, 2009:
Mr. Vishal Khosla, senior applications and marketing eingineer of Center for Tribology, Inc. visited Europe with a goal of reporting to tribologists and materials scientists about the latest developments in mechanical nano+microanalysis of the surfaces and providing product range training to younger TTZH specialists, including some aspects of surface characterization under high temperatures.

Apart from experiences in UNMT techniques, his expertise includes a strong technical background in CMP techniques and tribological aspects of Chemical Mechanical Polishing being of importance in microtechnology and semiconductor industry.

January, 2009:
TTZH started the year with participation at 3D Days in Oldenburg on 28-29 January 2009. The outstanding techniques for 3D topography analysis demonstrated at TTZH booth, is made in Besançon in France, and it is very useful not only for standard measurements, but also for many unconventional applications, like architecture, archeology, criminal investigation technique and more. The visitors have got a possibility to see both laboratory instrument and NJ Portable, applicable for the field measurements.

November, 2008:
18^th Simrit Innovation Forum was organized in the Stadthalle Weinheim at 6th November 2008. In the technical presentations have been introduced the state-of-the-art developments of innovative products, materials and services.

TTZH experts participated in this forum. Dr. Michael Efron is with TTZH as a project manager. He obtained his PhD in agricultural machinery and presently he is putting a special attention to the high precision components of machines and seals for versatile applications in wind energy, steel industry, oil and gas industry, cars and tractors production, instrumentation etc. He is supervising the current projects in Europe and in Middle Asia.

April, 2008:
International Tribology Conference “Friction, Wear and Wear Protection” organized by German Society of Materials Science was hold on 09.04.-11.04.2008 in Aachen, Germany. The Conference was chaired by Prof. Kirsten Bobzin of Institute for Surface Engineering of RWTH Aachen and Prof. Alfons Fischer of Institute for Product Engineering of University Duisburg-Essen.

On the picture one can see the front entrance in Eurogress during the days of the Conference.

TTZH hosted at their booth the manufacturers of scientific equipment for tribotesting (www.cetr.com) and 3D surface analysis (www.nanojura.com).
